2012 - Centennial Photo Contest

All entries will be judged on capturing the dragon in the Doberman (attractive, full of vitality, power, imperial symbol, natural charisma, impressive presence, larger than life, vibrant), one first-place winner and a runner-up will be selected in each category by a panel of experts. A grand prize winner will be selected from the four category winners listed below. Our contest judges are Wendy Reyn, Michael of Winconline and Connie Krohn, with the DPCC’s non-voting representative, Carolyn Irvine. Our Grand Prize winner will receive a coveted calendar spot in the 2013 DPCC Annual Calendar. First prize in each category will receive a Centennial mug, and the runner-up in each category will receive a Centennial pen. Winners will be announced in June 2012. Rules of Photo Contest
- Entry is open only to members of the DPCC.
- All entries become the property of the DPCC; entry constitutes permission to use the photo(s) in any manner the Club chooses.
- Photos may only be submitted by the photographer or his or her authorised representative. It is the entrant's responsibility to ensure that all the necessary permissions are obtained from any people and the owners of the animals featured in their photograph(s).
- Entry must have a resolution of a 300 dpi or it will be disqualified.
- Photo must focus on the Doberman.
- Only photos with paid entry fees will be considered.
- Entries may be in colour or black and white.
- Judges may reclassify entries and their decisions are final. Winners will announced in May 2012.
- All entries must be received before April 30th, 2012.
- Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or convertible for cash. In the event that the DPCC is unable to provide a prize as described for reasons outside its control, the DPCC may at its absolute discretion substitute some other item or items of equivalent or greater retail value.
- Submissions will include a 'Photo Title' and 'Photo Description'
- This competition is open to amateur photographers only. Professionals or semi-professionals are not permitted. If you have won a competition before, you can still enter, but if you have sold any of your photos for a profit in the last year, you no longer qualify as an amateur with regards to this contest.
- The DPCC reserves the right to reject submissions that do not conform to these official rules; do not comply with Canadian or US legal requirements or do not meet the DPCC's technical or editorial specifications or for any other reason as the DPCC sees fit. A refund of the entry fee for a rejected submission will not be given.
- Entries must be posted electronically using the form provided at www.dpcc.ca Entries cannot be emailed, posted or submitted any other way.
- By entering the competition, you agree to these terms and conditions and give the DPCC a non-exclusive licence to publish any submitted photo on our website and blog, in electronic and printed promotional material for the DPCC as well as exhibition spaces such as pet shows and in those cases there will be no payment for the use of the photos
- If there is any event that prevents or hinders the DPCC's conduct of the competition or the DPCC's ability to deliver the prizes to the prize winners of the competition, the DPCC may, in its discretion, cancel the competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner.
- The DPCC is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition. The DPCC assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alteration of entries.
- To the full extent permitted by the law, the DPCC will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or inconsequential) to persons or property as a result of any person entering into the Competition or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation non-receipt of any prize or damage to any prize in transit.
